“An estimated 4.3 million adults 50 and older — nearly 5 percent of adults in that age range — had used an illicit drug in the past year, says a newly published study conducted by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. SAMHSA has reported in recent years that illicit drug use among adults in their 50s has increased by more than 60 percent.”
