PHOENIX — The sanitation truck driver who ran down eight motorcycles on March 25, killing four people, had illegal drugs in his system at the time of the crash, Phoenix police said Tuesday.
Michael Jakscht, 46, was impaired at the scene.
Toxicology results confirmed initial testing showed that illegal drugs were present in Jakscht’s system at the time of the collision, Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump said. The illegal substance is believed to be methamphetamine, Crump said.
