Drug operation reported at middle school

A drug operation at a San Jose middle school was broken up by police after four children were taken to the hospital. Sergeant Ronnie Lopez of the San Jose Police says that on Friday afternoon, an 11-year-old girl at Piedmont Middle School reported she had taken pills and felt dizzy.

School officials then called police. While waiting for officers to arrive on the scene, the assistant principal was able to make contact with the person who gave her the pills. It was an 11-year-old boy who attended the school. According to investigators, he had gotten the pills, which were determined to be Ecstasy, from his 13-year-old brother. In addition, the suspect had given the money to another student to hold.
